National Level Hackathon for Women

Contest Stages:

The contest will consist of three rounds

ROUND 1:

  • First Round: The First round will consist of an online submission of the project proposal and screenshots of demo prototype

ROUND 2:

  • Second Round: Twenty (20) teams will be shortlisted for a google meet discussion with the judges in the Second round.

ROUND 3:

  • Third Round: The top ten (10) teams will be selected for the on-site Finals to be held at Padre Conceicao College of Engineering, Verna, Goa.

General Rules:

The contest is open to Women students from Colleges and Universities across India coming from General and Professional streams and at all levels Under-Graduate, Graduate and Post-graduate degrees.

ROUND 1 – Online Submission

  • Each team must have 3 members.
  • Any number of teams from a given Institution can participate in the event.
  • All participants of the team have to register for the Hackathon through the google form.
  • Refer to the Registration page for more details.
  • 20 selected teams will move forward for the google meet Interview round.

ROUND 2 – Online Interviews

  • All the three members of each selected team should attend the google meet interview round.
  • All the details of the interview will be sent to selected teams through email.
  • Top 10 selected teams will enter into finale round.

ROUND 3 - Online

  • The finale will be held at Padre Conceicao College of Engineering, Goa on 14th and 15th October 2022.
  • The problem statements for the final round will be provided on spot on 14th October 2022.
  • Participants must be accompanied by one female faculty member compulsorily.
  • Accommodation will be provided to Final teams. Check Accommodation for more details.
  • If a participant from a team cannot join the team for the Finals, the college can replace the student with another participant with consent from the organizers.
  • It is mandatory for the participants to bring their personal identity proof.
  • Participants should get their own laptops.
  • To ensure a level field for all contestants, all code, design, etc. assets must be created/developed during the Hackathon only, so that all the participants start off on the same footing.
  • They can use existing open source libraries and APIs and pre-made wireframes and download relevant platforms/libraries/ other tools needed.
  • Internet facilities will be provided.
  • App/Website development can be done on any platform.
  • Coding should be done in the specified time only. No extra time shall be provided.
  • If any participant is found to be cheating, the whole team will be disqualified.
  • In case of any dispute, the decision taken by event heads will be final.
  • The judge’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

Evaluation Criteria:

Round 1 and Round 2:

  • The entries in the First round will be evaluated on various parameters including originality of the idea, design considerations and use case relevance.
  • The google meet round will primarily ascertain credentials of the participants, authenticity of the proposal and implementation strategies.

Round 3:

Round 3 will be evaluated based on the following criteria:

  • Innovativeness / Originality of Idea – How new is this idea? This could be a radical innovation or a meaningful new take on an existing product or service.
  • Impact – Does the App/Product have the ability to make its users’ lives better, for example by helping them save more, make better financial decisions, or reduce debt.
  • Market Viability – Does the App/Product show promise of performing in the marketplace?
  • Design Considerations and Functionality – How well does App/Product perform the function defined by Participant?
  • Code Maturity and UI
  • Presentation skills – Participants will be required to present their ideas to the judges, during an ongoing evaluation process.
