P.C.C.E. CELEBRATES “INTERNATIONAL GIRL-CHILD DAY”

October 11th is globally celebrated as “International Girl-child Day”. To mark the occasion, Padre Conceicao College of Engineering (PCCE), in collaboration with Agnel Entrepreneuship Development Institute (AEDI) and Directorate of Women and Child, Govt. of Goa, organized a webinar on “Sustainable Choices” for girl students in engineering across the state.

The invited Resource Person was Ms. Devaki Sangodkar, an eco-influencer on social media, having a successful YouTube channel named “Di’s Planet”. Ms. Devaki is a PCCE alumnus from the first batch of Information Technology and post-grad from Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT) alumnus. Ms. Devaki has previously worked at PCCE and Goa College of Engineering as an Assistant Professor, as well as in sevral companies such as VMware, Brocade and 3D systems.

Ms. Devaki addressed how making simple life’s choices can contribute to a better world. As engineers, it is our social responsibility to contribute towards sustainable and eco-friendly processes and products. If we are conscious of the choices we make, we will be better managers, entrpreneurs and even team players.

The event was joinlty coordinated by Ms. Razia de Loyola Furtado e Sardinha, Assistant Professor & Training and Placement Officer, PCCE, Mr. Amey Karmali, CEO, CIBA, Verna and Mr. Rajiv Burman, Manager, CIBA, Verna.

It was attended by 70 students and faculty from across the state and received wonderful feedback.
