REFERENCE SERVICE

The Library maintains a separate Reference Section consisting of Encyclopedia, Dictionaries, Handbooks, Monographs, Project Reports, and Question Banks. Users may approach the library staff for information or any assistance in the use of the library collections and services.

BOOK LENDING SERVICE

Open access facility is available to the users. Borrowing limits and loan periods vary according to category of users. The various categories are as follows:

ONLINE EMAIL ALERT SERVICE

Library provides periodically email alert service to the users which facilitate access to full-text articles and abstracts of current topics based on requested Keywords given by the users. Under this, the faculty and students have the provision of requesting full-text articles/journals of a particular topic/subject, by sending an e-mail to our technical assistant on pcceejournals@rediffmail.com, and the request will be duly attended to.

PERIODICALS

Library subscribes to a rich collection of nearly 54 print national journals and magazines and more than 1400 international proceedings and e-journals, and 07 Newspapers which facilitates users to access current information.

ONLINE RESOURCES

The Central library has separate digital library section with 10 computers exclusively for e-resources. Digital Library with an infinite knowledge of resources made available online to the users. IEEE- IEL digital library facilitate to users to access abstract of 950,000 IEEE documents from over 12,000 publications, including 187 full text journals,  and 1400 – conference proceedings. Along with this, DELNET, NDLI, NPTEL, DOAJ etc. provide abundant content and information which enhance the teaching and learning processes of our students.  The central library is the member of NDLI. Students and staff are register for the National digital library of India and guided to use wide range of resources in different areas.

 

PHOTOCOPYING SERVICES

Library provides Photocopying services to users at nominal charges.

BOOK-BANK BOOKS

Library maintains a separate collection of book-bank books for OBC, SC/ST students with financial support from the Government of Goa under the social welfare scheme. Students can borrow a maximum of seven books for the period of one semester. The number increases with the purchase of new books.

OPAC (ONLINE PUBLIC ACCESS CATALOGUE)

OPAC is a window of library collection. The patron can search the required books from anywhere within the college campus. Search by Title, Author, keywords, etc. gives detail about the books and their location as well their availability. Students can renew their books before the due date through OPAC without coming to the library. And also, the reservation of the book can be done if all books of a particular title are issued out. The list of the new arrival is automatically displayed on the OPAC periodically as we procure the new books. Now students can also search project reports of BE and Me-IT on OPAC.
