TALK ON GENERATIVE AI

The Student Unit of Information Technology (SUIT), organized an interactive session on Generative AI. Held on September 8th 2023, at PCCE, the event was conducted by two esteemed speakers from Persistent Systems Ltd, Mr. Eric Pereira, Technical Project Manager, and Mr. Sairaj Anvekar, Project Lead.

The event was supervised by Mr. Shaba Dessai SUIT faculty in charge along with the office bearers of SUIT committee under the supervision of Dr. Shailendra Aswale. Ms. Kripa Davidson hosted the event and welcomed the speakers and dignitaries. Mr. Ameya Wadekar presented a flower bouquet to the speaker, and the host introduced the topic of Generative AI.

Generative AI is a transformative branch of artificial intelligence that enables machines to create content autonomously using advanced algorithms and neural networks. It can generate various types of data, including lifelike text, images, and music, among others, and has many applications, from creative content generation to data augmentation in machine learning. However, ethical concerns, such as deep fakes and misinformation, also arise.

The talk was interactive, and most of the participants’ queries were answered by the speakers. The session concluded with a vote of thanks by Mr. Shivam Korgaonkar, the SUIT president, and the memento was presented to the speaker by Mr. Ameya Wadekar of the IT department
