The ACE Student Chapter Installation Ceremony 2024-25

The ACE Student Chapter installation ceremony for the academic year 2024-2025 was held on July 19, 2024, in computer lab-2. The event marked the formal induction of the newly elected council members who will serve the student body in various capacities throughout the year. The ceremony was attended by students and faculty members all gathered to witness the transition of leadership and to celebrate the spirit of student governance.
Outline of the Ceremony:
- Welcome Address: The ceremony began with a warm welcome address by the HOD (Head of the Department), Dr. Supriya Patil. She emphasized the importance of student leadership and encouraged the new council members to uphold the values and traditions of the institution, and motivated the students present to actively participate in college activities and make the most of their academic journey.
- Introduction of Council Members and Oath-Taking Ceremony: The compere for the afternoon, Ms. Riya Verlekar (B.E. Comp), introduced the newly elected council members. The new council members pledged to fulfil their duties with integrity, dedication, and commitment to the welfare of the student community. Each member was called to the stage and presented with their respective badges of office from Dr. Supriya Patil.
- Seminar on “TinyML for Healthcare and Deployment Challenges on Low-Power Edge Computing Boards”: The highlight of the ceremony was an enlightening talk delivered by Mr. Vipin Gautam, Senior Research Fellow at IIT Goa, who is an expert in the field of machine learning. The talk, which lasted over an hour, covered the basics of tinyML, its applications in healthcare, and the challenges associated with deploying tinyML models on low-power edge computing boards. Mr. Vipin Gautam’s engaging presentation was well-received by the audience and was followed by a Q&A session.
- Address by the New President: The newly elected president, Mr. Palaash Naik (B.E. Comp), delivered an inspiring speech outlining his vision on how, we as engineers should be eager to learn new things. He also highlighted key points from the talk on TinyML.
- Announcement of Ideas for the Magazine: The newly elected Magazine Secretary, Ms. Ridhi Jha (B.E. Comp), announced exciting ideas for the college magazine 2024-25. She invited contributions from students across the department and encouraged everyone to share their creative works, articles, and research papers. The magazine aims to showcase the diverse talents and achievements of the students throughout the year. She also announced a competition to design the magazine cover page.
- Vote of Thanks: The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by the newly elected President. He expressed gratitude to the faculty, students, and guests for their support and participation, and extended a special thanks to Mr. Vipin Gautam for giving an instructive talk.
The ACE Student Chapter installation ceremony was a memorable event that set a positive tone for the upcoming academic year. The newly inducted council members are enthusiastic and ready to take on their responsibilities, aiming to make a significant impact on the student community.
