ACM student chapter office bearers’ installation ceremony and technical talk on ‘Generative AI’
The ACM Student Chapter of Padre Conceicao College of Engineering (PCCE), organized its first event for the academic year 2023-24 on 7th September 2023 at 11:00 am in Comp Lab 2 at PCCE. It featured the oath-taking ceremony and an insightful talk on Generative AI. The event was attended by ACM student members, faculty, and students from the second and third year computer engineering. The total number of participants were 50. The faculty coordinators for the event were Ms. Louella M. Colaco and Ms. Meghana Pai Kane. The ceremony was compared by Ridhi Jha from T.E. Oath Taking Ceremony
The event commenced with an oath-taking ceremony by the newly elected PCCE ACM student chapter office bearers. The oath was taken by:

Generative AI Talk
The second part of the event featured an expert talk on how one can unleash the power of generative AI. Mr. Prem Udande from Persistent Systems Ltd ,Goa was invited to share his knowledge.
Key points covered during the talk were:
- An overview of generative AI , and its significance in modern technology. He delved into the history of generative AI and traced the evolution of Large Language Models (LLM).
- Examples of real-world applications of Large Language Models (LLM) showcasing how LLM can be used in various industries.
- Insights into the latest advancements in generative AI and how businesses were impacted by it. Understanding of business side applications of Generative AI and how building applications are affected in businesses
- Courses one can take to get started with Generative AI. This was followed by a live demo of using ChatGPT 3.5 and a live demo of building our own chatbots using pythons OpenAI library.
Mr. Prem Udande captivated the audience with live demos and an interactive presentation style. Attendees had the opportunity to ask questions and engage in meaningful discussions, making the talk an educational and thought-provoking experience.
