HIGH QUALITY MATERIALS AND SOLAR POWER SOLUTIONS FOR ENERGY CONSERVATION

The Research, Development and Consultancy Centre (RDCC) at Padre Conceição College of Engineering organized a webinar on “High Quality materials and Solar Power Solutions for Energy Conservation” on 14th December, 2020. The guest speakers for the webinar were Mr. E. Suresh (GM Engineering, TATA BlueScope Steel) and Mr. Bhaskar S Kamath (Head – Rooftop Engineering, TATA Power Solar Systems). The webinar was spear-headed by Dr. Niyan Marchon (Head, RDCC & IIC). The webinar was aimed at educating final year students of the Mechanical and Electronics & Telecommunications department and was coordinated by Prof. Mohnish Borker and Mr. Yash Chodankar. The webinar began with an introduction of the speakers by Mr. Mohnish Borker followed by the expert talk. The speaker, Mr. E. Suresh discussed about customized roofing solutions and the various module mounting solutions. The students were given an insight on various applications of LYSAGHT ILIOS metal rooftop solar solutions and explained its advantages.
The second speaker explained the concept of solar PV and the solar mountings for thermal applications. The speaker also highlighted the TATA powers achievement in installing unmanned offshore platform installations for DC power. The webinar ended with students’ feedback on the webinar and a vote of thanks by Dr. Niyan Marchon.
