INDUCTION 2019

FIRST YEAR INDUCTION PROGRAM AT PCCE

The First Year Cell of Padre Conceicao College of Engineering conducted an Induction Program for the students of the First Year from 1st to 12th July 2019. The Induction Program started off with an Orientation Program for which Mangirish Salelkar, CEO Umang Software Technologies and President of GTA was the Chief Guest.  On the first two days of the Induction program, Ms. Kanan Tandi, CEO Body Speaks Better, spoke to the students on the importance of non – verbal communication and conducted icebreakers for the students. Dr. Niyan Marchon, Associate Professor, Department of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering, PCCE, conducted very interactive sessions on Group Discussion. The college faculty also conducted a college campus tour.

Ms. Dikshita Desai, GDG Goa Lead, conducted very interesting sessions on Machine Learning and stressed the importance of this upcoming technology. The first week of the Induction program ended with two relaxing sessions – one on Meditation conducted by Ms. Komal Paroolkar, Mathematics faculty, Department of Basic Sciences and Humanities, PCCE and Vipasana conducted by Dr. Shankar Doraiswamy from Goa Vipasana Samiti.

Week 2 of the Induction program started off with Mr. Anand Kumar Lotlikar and a session on business model canvas and Mr. Prajyot Mainkar, CEO Androcid with the theme The art of being a Ninja Engineer. The student advisors, Ms. Nisha Gonsalves and Mr. Rommel D’Souza conducted very soul stirring sessions on the theme of How to make the most of your student life. The last two days of the Induction program ended on a high with three power packed sessions. Dr. Jyoti Hegde, a corporate soft skills trainer, gave the students a motivational talk. Team BHP, one of the robotics teams of PCCE addressed the students on various events and workshops and also had demonstrations of the bots and airships. The Induction program ended with a fun filled team building session conducted by Ms. Aditi Silveira, Communication Skills faculty, Department of Basic sciences and Humanities, PCCE. The Induction Program ended with a valedictory function and a cultural program wherein the first year students showcased their talents. They put up a fashion show, Beatbox and rap performance, monologue and poetry recital as well as piano solos and singing performances as well as a DJ performance as well
