AARUSH 2018 (JOB FAIR)

For the first time in Goa, Goa Technology Association in association with Padre Conceicao College of Engineering hosted GTA Career Sprint on 20th January 2018. The event partner for the job fair was AARUSH 2018 – Lighting the Future. 31 Goan IT companies conducted live on campus interviews. 395 Students from all the engineering colleges in Goa, namely Goa College of Engineering, Don Bosco College of Engineering, Shree Rayeshwar Institute of engineering, Agnel Institute of Technology and Design and Padre Conceicao College of Engineering participated in the job fair. These students had the opportunity to interact with the tech entrepreneurs from Goa. The Vice – Chancellor of Goa University, Prof. Varun Sahni, was the Chief Guest for the event. He stressed the importance of using technology to maintain connectivity between Institutes and Industry. He also motivated the students to become engineers who serve society. The president of Goa Technology Association Mr. Mangirish Salelkar too addressed the gathering. He urged students to become engineers who are ‘industry ready’ and inspired them to work hard. The companies made a pitch describing themselves and the jobs that were being offered. They also elaborated as to what they expected from the students who applied for the various openings. The Chief Coordinator for the event, Head of the Training and Placement Office of Padre Conceicao College of Engineering, Mr. Niyan Marchon, was pleased that PCCE served as a platform for an event of this magnitude. He also stated that GTA Career Sprint was a wonderful way to connect institutes and industries and he looks forward to more events on a bigger scale. A student from PCCE, Nathan from BE IT stated that this job fair was an amazing opportunity for students from both a job as well as a learning perspective. He valued the words of wisdom he received from the various entrepreneurs he interacted with and felt that this job fair truly gave him direction.
