Bits & Bytes of Networking

The Department of Information Technology organized a one day workshop on “Bits & Bytes of Networking “ on 14th May 2022 ,for the second year students of Information Technology, PCCE. The objective of this workshop was to acquaint the participants with the basic principles and  developments in the area of Networking.

The resource persons for the workshop were PCCE Alumnus Mr.Nolan Pereira ,CCNA and Security  plus certified ,Senior Network Engineer at Prodapt solutions pvt.Ltd and Mr.Pratik Nayak ,CCNA certified ,Ex- Technical Accounts manager at Zscaler Bangalore . They discussed various aspects of networking that can help students to work in industry and gave an insight on how the internet works and the process that happens when browsing the Internet.

 The other topics covered during the workshop were an overview of CISCO IOS, configurations of routers and switches, Packet tracker, Firewall and dealt with protocols such as HTTP, HTTPs, SSL and TLS.The workshop also encompassed hands on training on how to trace packets and gave a deeper understanding of the OSI model and its working.

 The workshop was organized by Asst. Professor Ms.Sonia Fernandes and Asst. Professor Ms. Ravina Quadros from the Department of Information Technology.
