Inaugural Ceremony of Student Chapter of Information Technology
The Departments of Information Technology, Padre Conceição College of Engineering installed the fifth edition of Student Unit of Information Technology (S.U.I.T) on 18th October 2022 at 11:30 am in the college auditorium. The chief guest for the event was Mr. Durgadas Kamat, senior architect –Cloud practice at Persistent Systems Limited.
The Student Unit was inaugurated in the presence of the Director, Rev. Fr. Agnelo Gomes, the registrar, Dr.Stephen Dias Barreto , Head of Department of Information Technology, Dr. Terence Johnson, the Chief Guest Mr. Durgadas Kamat, faculty and students of the IT department.
The event was compered by the new members of SUIT Kevin Saby and Kripa Davidson. They welcomed the gathering, the chief guest and all the dignitaries. The chief guest was presented a flower bouquet by Asst prof. Ameya Wadekar.
The head of the department addressed the gathering and spoke about the SUIT committee and the events conducted by the student chapter. He also motivated the committee to conduct more technical and non-technical events for the betterment for the students that have a variety of interests.
Later the oath was taken by the office bearers and the head of the department administered the oath. This year a new position of social media manager was introduced into the committee.

The faculty coordinator for the chapter is Asst. Professor Shaba Dessai .
The chief guest addressed the students and spoke about the different technology trends. He advised the students to actively participate in the events conducted by the college or government for better exposure.
At the end of the event president of the committee, Darshan Nair gave the vote of thanks and the memento was presented to the chief guest by the director.
