FE COMPUTER VISITS NCPOR, VASCO
The first-year computer engineering students visited the National Centre for Polar and Ocean Research (NCPOR) on the 6th of June 2023 on account of World Environment Day.
We are grateful to Dr.Swati Nagar, scientist at NCPOR for coordinating the visit. Dr. Swati introduced the students to the different activities conducted at NCPOR.Dr. Yogesh Ray, scientist at NCPOR, made the students aware of climate change and its effects on the poles. He also spoke about India’s three research stations in Antarctica, namely Bharati, Dakshin Gangotri and Maitri.
The students had the privilege of interacting with scientists at Bharati through a video call. The visit concluded with a quiz based on World environment day. The winners of the quiz were Mr. Sujal Gaonker (1st Place), Mr. Rishabh Tari (2nd Place) and Mr. Ugam Shetye (3rd Place).
Ms. Andrea D’Souza, Assistant Professor in department of Computer Engineering and Mr. Kevin Rodrigues, Assistant Professor in department Basic Science and Humanities accompanied the students.
