VFX Workshop Organized by SCADA
Date: 28th October 2023
Venue: PCCE Auditorium
The VFX Workshop was successfully conducted on 28th October 2024, organized by SCADA – The Student Association of Electronics and Computer Engineering, at Padre Conceicao College of Engineering (PCCE). The primary objective of the workshop was to introduce students to the fascinating world of Visual Effects (VFX), widely used in the film, media, and animation industries.
The session began with a brief introduction to VFX concepts and tools. Participants were familiarized with the different types of effects used in film production, such as compositing, green screen usage, motion tracking, and digital enhancements. The speaker demonstrated how VFX contributes to storytelling and visual appeal in films and commercials.
Following the theoretical overview, the students were engaged in hands-on sessions, where they got the opportunity to work with basic VFX techniques. Participants experimented with simple editing tools and visual effects to understand how layers, masking, and transitions work in real-time video processing.
The workshop was designed to be beginner-friendly, and no prior experience in VFX or design tools was required. Students from various departments showed enthusiastic participation and expressed interest in exploring VFX further as a creative and technical career option.
The session concluded with an interactive Q&A, where participants cleared their doubts and received guidance on how to pursue further learning in the VFX field.
Overall, the workshop served as an excellent platform to introduce students to creative technologies beyond their academic curriculum, combining technology and art. The efforts of the SCADA team were appreciated for organizing an informative and engaging event.
