Hands-on Industry workshop on “Snowflake”

The Association of Computer Engineers organized an industry workshop for Aarush 2023. Mr. Leander Faleiro, a second-year computer engnineering student, initiated the session by welcoming the distinguished speaker, Mr. Srinivass Sandeep Sinai Talaulikar.

The session began with an illuminating introduction to Ziemetrics, laying the groundwork for a comprehensive exploration of Data Engineering. He delved into the distinctions between Databases, Data Warehouses, and Data Lakes, underscoring the pivotal role of data engineering and the ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) process. Key topics included Data Cleaning, Data Lakes in AWS, and the practical aspects of working with CSV files. The session seamlessly transitioned into an interactive phase, where students actively engaged in practical exercises using AWS, Snowflake, and associated tools.  The concluding segment of the workshop centered around a discussion on the importance of data encryption. Mr. Talaulikar shed light on the critical need to secure data in today’s world, emphasizing the significance of encryption measures.

Ms. Gargi Sardessai, a second-year computer engineering student, delivered a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the speaker for his invaluable insights and expertise on Snowflake, as well as extending thanks to all attendees for their enthusiastic participation.
