Techyon 2023: A Triumph of Innovation and Collaboration
Padre Conceicao College of Engineering, Verna – Goa, in association with Visteon, organized the National Level Technical Fest, Techyon 2023, from 9th to 11th November 2023. Techyon is renowned for bridging the gap between industrial expertise and academia, and this edition was no exception. With over 100 reputed engineering colleges participating from across the country, the event served as a platform for students to showcase their diverse skills, compete, and enhance their knowledge through various competitions held during the three days. The chief guest for the inaugural function was Mr. Jainulla Abuddin, Software Engineering Manager at Visteon Corporation and the guest of honour was Mr. Aaron Anthony Fernandes, Senior Software Engineer at Oneshield and an alumnus of PCCE. The event was also graced by the presence of P.C.C.E. Director Rev Fr Agnelo Gomes, Principal Dr. Mahesh Parrapagoudar, Registrar Dr. Stephen Baretto, heads of department, industry representatives, alumni, staff and students of P.C.C.E.
Techyon 2023 featured an impressive array of 35 events including workshops, which included Hacktech, Logic Loot, ReactJS workshop, AR treasure Hunt, Code Test, PowerBI workshop, Tech Relay, Query Quest, Pitch Tank, Electronic Art, Line Follower, Code Quest, Bridge Building, Robbo soccer, Mechanism Building Code Crunch, Tech Masters, Codeathon, and Robowars and many more. Each event showcased creativity, emphasizing how innovation and technology can be taken to the next level. The workshop sessions, covering a diverse range of topics, garnered an overwhelming response in terms of participation and were highly appreciated by all attendees. The workshops not only provided theoretical knowledge but also offered practical insights, enriching the students’ understanding of current industry practices. Collaboration with companies such as Oneshield Software, Creative Capsule Infotech, Altered Reality Studio, Tangentia, ClerksWell, B Live, Infuse, The Design Guru, UBS Graphics, Steel Zest Engineers, The Fisherman’s Corner, SJ innovation, Kyfer, Growworthylife, Standard properties, Camclinic, and others not only elevated Techyon 2023 through prize sponsorships but also provided valuable opportunities to students thus contributing to their holistic development.
The success of Techyon 2023 was made possible by the dedication and coordination of the organizing team. The faculty team members included: Mr. Gaurak Phaldessai, Assistant Professor, Mechanical Engineering department, Ms. Megha Ainapurkar, Assistant Professor, Information technology department, Ms. Cynara Fernandes, Assistant Professor, Computer Engineering department, Mr. Sanjeet Kanekar, Assistant Professor, Electronics and Computer Engineering department, and Ms. Komal Paroolkar, Assistant Professor, Basic Science and Humanities department. The student representatives in the team included: Bhaskar and Xavier of the Mechanical Department, Shreya and Shreyas from the Computer Engineering Department, Atharva and Bhumika from the IT Department, and Arya and Sufiyan from the EComp Dept. The team played an instrumental role in conceptualizing, planning, and executing the events, setting new benchmarks for technical contests.
In conclusion, Techyon 2023 stood out as a beacon of innovation, collaboration, and knowledge exchange. The event not only provided a platform for students to showcase their skills but also fostered meaningful connections between academia and industry.
