INTRODUCTION TO UI/UX DESIGN WORKSHOP
On 29th August 2024, the PCCE ACM Student Chapter successfully organized the UI/UX workshop as part of AARUSH 2024 – The annual PCCE Industry-Academia Symposium that aims to bridge the gap between academic learning and industry practices. The workshop held from 1:30 PM to 4:00 PM at Computer Lab 2, was led by Mr. Shriram Parab, a UI Design Associate at ScreenRoot.
Mr. Parab conducted an engaging hands-on session, focussing on the impact of design in enhancing business and attracting customers. He used practical examples, such as comparing the user interfaces of Airbnb and MakeMyTrip, to illustrate the significant differences in UI design and its effects.
The workshop, attended by over 70 second-year Computer Engineering students, included an interactive session where participants were guided through navigating Figma and Figma Mirror. Additionally, Mr. Parab facilitated the development of a simple login page and an artboard UI, allowing students to gain practical experience in creating design elements.
Overall, the workshop was an excellent opportunity for students to enhance their understanding of UI/UX design and its application in real-world scenarios.
The faculty coordinators for the event were Ms. Meghana Pai Kane, Dr. Louella M. Colaco, and Ms. Lindsey Colaco. The student coordinators for the event were Mr. Rounak Naik and Mr. Shrain Dhavjekar, both students of TE Computers.
