Ms. Atrimizia Dias led a session on “Opportunities after Bachelors. Ms. Dias briefly elaborated on the potential career paths that techies can opt for after B.E. She expressed the fact that programming makes one think out of the box. She informed the students that software engineers develop software to manage data & solve our everyday problems.

Further, she gave an insight into the field of data science & data analysis. Data science is a branch involving CS, Maths & biology. It’s a mathematics driven course. Individuals who enjoy playing with numbers & not codes can take up jobs as data scientists.

People who are creative, emphatic, introverts & artists should preferably undertake jobs in UI/UX sector. Tech fans that have a passion for Maths & creativity can pursue Masters or Ph.D. Digital enthusiasts that are interested in applied Maths & writing algorithms should work as computer scientists.

People that desire to work with finances, stock markets or want to become entrepreneurs can select MBA as their degree. Individuals can also work as faculty or take up civil jobs. She emphasized that one needs to be the best in his/her domain in order to sustain in the industry since the computer industry is very unstable & one can be laid off at any moment. Hence, one needs to be a good problem solver as well as have a strong base in a particular language.

At the end of the session, she inspired us the students to have grand aspirations so that we can come out in flying colours in whichever area we choose.
