The Front-End Design Showdown was an exciting front-end development competition held on 17th October. The event brought together talented front-end developers from across Goa to showcase their creativity, technical skills, and innovation in a 5-hour challenge. Participants competed to create front-end designs based on a surprise theme, aiming for a prize pool of ₹9,000.

The judges, experts in software development and UX design, evaluated the participants’work based on creativity, design aesthetics, functionality, and the efficient use of front-end technologies.
Theme
The surprise theme for the event was “Local Pulse: Empowering Community Commerce.”
Participants were challenged to create a front-end interface that connects residents with local businesses, services, and food options, aiming to strengthen local economies. The goal was to design a digital experience that fosters community engagement and makes it easy for people to support their local economy by shopping, dining, and interacting with nearby businesses. Teams were tasked with crafting engaging, intuitive, and visually appealing interfaces to bring local commerce to life in the digital realm.
Challenge & Judging Criteria
Participants were required to create a responsive and innovative front-end design within 5 hours. The core judging criteria were:
• Innovation & Creativity: Originality and innovative approach to solving the problem.
• Visual Design & User Interface: The aesthetic appeal and structure of the interface.
• Usability & User Experience: How intuitive and user-friendly the design was.
• Technology Usage: The effective use of front-end technologies and frameworks.
• Responsiveness & Cross-Browser Compatibility: How well the design adapted to various screen sizes and browsers.
Key Highlights
• 13 Teams from prestigious colleges across Goa participated, each showcasing their front-end design skills.
• The theme focused on empowering community commerce through innovative digital interfaces, encouraging participants to think creatively and practically.
