TRAINING OF BASIC LIFE SUPPORT

On 21st January 2025, Apollo Hospitals conducted a Basic Life Support (BLS) training session for the NSS volunteers of Padre Conceicao College of Engineering (PCCE). The session was aimed at equipping the volunteers with essential life-saving skills to respond effectively in emergency situations. Experts from Apollo Hospitals provided a comprehensive demonstration of BLS techniques, including CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation), the use of AED (Automated External Defibrillator), and basic first aid procedures. The volunteers were guided through practical exercises and real-life scenarios, ensuring they gained hands-on experience in applying these critical skills.

The following topics for First Aid & Basic Life Saving Technique along with practical were conducted:

2) Drowning

3) Choking

4) Nose bleed

5) Wounds management’s

6) Fracture

7) Bleeding

8) Frost bite

9) Fainting

10) Dizziness

11) Stroke

12) Burns

13) Poisoning

14) Snake bite

15) Dog bite

16) Foreign body in eye ear and nose

17) Electric shock first aid

The training session was well-received by the NSS volunteers, who recognized the importance of being prepared for emergencies and the impact that quick, efficient actions can have on saving lives. The event not only enhanced the volunteers’ ability to assist in critical situations but also fostered a deeper sense of responsibility towards community service. Apollo Hospitals’ expertise and guidance in organizing this session were appreciated, and the volunteers left the event with the confidence and knowledge to act decisively in times of need.
