A seminar titled “Finding Your Path in Application Development Lifecycle” was conducted on 6th May 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM under the joint initiative of the National Digital Library of India and the Association of Computer Engineers (ACE). The seminar featured a distinguished panel of speakers: Palaash Naik (BE Comp), Rounak Naik (TE Comp), Travis Fernandes (BE Comp), and Sayhan Ali (BE Comp), all of whom were winners of the recent Goa Police Hackathon. Their session was designed to share insights and experiences from their winning project and offer guidance on navigating different roles within application development.
Speaker Highlights:
Palaash Naik – Backend Development with Golang
Palaash shed light on the backend aspect of app development and his experience working with Golang along with its benefits and uses.
Rounak Naik – Cross-Platform Development with Flutter
Rounak discussed Flutter as a cross-platform mobile development framework offering rich UI components and flexibility.
He also shared a short anecdote about how he acquired his first client, offering valuable real-world insights to budding developers.
Sayhan Ali – Frontend Design with Next.js
Sayhan walked the audience through how he designed the frontend for their hackathon-winning app using Next.js.
Travis Fernandes – CI/CD Integration
Travis elaborated on how Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) was used to deploy their hackathon app efficiently.
Chief Guest Address:
The event was graced by Mr. Siddharth Gawas, a proud alumnus of PCCE and currently serving as a Senior Software Engineer at ONEINFINITY. In his keynote, he emphasized the importance of mastering core computer science subjects like Data Structures, Algorithms, and Mathematics. He shared that he used what he learnt in Language Translators at college to build domain specific languages at work. He pointed out that while tools and AI continue to evolve, a strong foundation in core subjects will always remain relevant and essential for a successful tech career.
Closing Session:
The seminar concluded with the reveal of the ACE Magazine by the chief guest, followed by the distribution of certificates to the ACE core members, recognizing their contributions to the association.
The vote of thanks was delivered by the ACE Secretary, Namrah Sayed (BE Comp), who expressed gratitude to the speakers, chief guest, and participants for making the seminar a valuable learning experience.
