PCCE ACM STUDENT CHAPTER OFFICE BEARERS INSTALLATION AND EXPERT TALK ON “BUSINESS GROWTH AND STARTUPS"
The ACM Student Chapter of Padre Conceicao College of Engineering (P.C.C.E.), organized its first event for the academic year 2025-26 on 9th September 2025 at 2:30 pm at the college auditorium. It featured the oath-taking ceremony of the chapter office bearers and an insightful talk on “Business Growth and Startups. The event was attended by ACM student chapter members, faculty, and students across departments. The total number of participants were 130. The student coordinator for the event was Mr. Om Mayekar (S.E. Computer Engineering) and the faculty coordinators for the event were Dr. Louella M. Colaco and Ms. Meghana Pai Kane. The ceremony was compared by Mr. Rizbern Prassanha, a student of T.E. Computer Engineering.
The formal installation of the council commenced under the guidance of Dr. Louella Colaco, Faculty Sponsor of the PCCE ACM Student Chapter. The newly elected office bearers were introduced and they solemnly took their oaths of office, officially assuming their responsibilities. The oath was taken by: Mr. Paulo Pereira (T.E. Comp) – Chair, Mr. Om Mayekar (S.E. Comp) – Vice-Chair, Mr. Joylen Fernandes (T.E. Comp) – Treasurer, Mr. Shane Remedios (T.E. Comp) – Secretary, Mr. Vedant Parab – Webmaster (S.E. Comp) and Ms. Disha Naik (S.E. Comp) – Membership Chair.
Following the oath ceremony, Mr. Om Mayekar, Vice-Chair of the PCCE ACM student chapter, introduced the chief guest and resource person Mr. Varun Shridhar – Ex- CEO of Paytm Services and invited him to address the audience and share his insights.
In his address, Mr. Sridhar shared his personal journey, narrating the challenges and milestones that shaped his career and leadership. He spoke on the evolving role of Artificial Intelligence in today’s job market, emphasizing the need for adaptability and preparedness to face future challenges. He also highlighted the growing relevance of startups, encouraging students to build versatile skill sets and continuously strive for self-improvement during their college years. His talk was both motivational and thought-provoking, resonating strongly with the student audience.
The event ended with a vote of thanks delivered by Mr. Paul Pereira, Chair, PCCE ACM student chapter and a photo session of the committee members, professors and the chief guest.
The inaugural ceremony of the PCCE ACM Student Chapter was a memorable beginning that not only installed its new council but also set the tone for future initiatives, with inspiration drawn from the distinguished insights shared by Mr. Varun Sridhar.
