PYTHON AND SELENIUM HANDS-ON WORKSHOP UNDER ACE CHAPTER
“ACE – Association of Computer Engineers” Student Chapter organized a Hands on Training Session on Python and Selenium as a part of the chapters second activity for the semester Jul-Dec 2019.
The session was held on 21st September 2019 from 10.30 to 3pm in Computer Lab 2 in the college premises. The new council for the chapter was installed on 9th August 2019.
The Python and Selenium hands-on session was conducted by the students of third Year Computers Vinit Sarode (Chapter Council Member), Asit Desai, Kenan Colaco and Rivson Moraes .The workshop was by the students for the students. The training session saw active participation and involvement by the students of all the departments. In total 55 students participated in the workshop.
The activity Commenced with The basics of Python where in the students were taught about variable declarations, dynamic variables etc. The speakers also illustrated the use of various decision making statements in python. Data structures like lists, tuples, sets and dictionaries were coded using Python.
Under the concept of Selenium, the participants were given some exercises which included Opening the Chrome Browser, Searching from a browser etc. In a later session Students were shown how to automate whatsapp like sending multiple strings of messages to a certain receiver.
Towards the end of the session participants were given an assignment of filling an online form using Selenium.
The session ended with distributing certificates to the speakers in the hands of the Head of Computer Engineering Department Ms Anusha Pai. Participation certificates were given to all the students.
The event was well coordinated and successfully executed by the Chapter council Rahul Chodankar, Saiesh Nachinolkar, Vibha Honavarkar and Vedhant Naik under the guidance of the Head of Computer Engineering Department Ms. Anusha Pai and the chapter Faculty Coordinator Assistant Professor Ms. Aparna Rane.
