PCCE PARTICIPATES IN INDIA INTERNATIONAL SCIENCE FESTIVAL
Padre Conceicao College of Engineering, Verna participated in the prestigious India International Science Festival in the Engineering Models Competition from 10th to 13th December 2021. The project titled “Wireless Electronic Stethoscope” was selected for presentation at the Engineering Model Competition. Two projects titled “ Design and Performance Evaluation of a Wi-Fi Energy Harvester for Energizing Low Power Devices” by Diffa Pinto, Akash Arun. Sahil Lenka, Lindsey Colaco from the Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering Department and ‘Design and analysis of Food Storage Box incorporated with Phase Change Material Panels by Sakshi Ramnathkar, Prajakta Palekar, and Joshua Pereira of the Mechanical Engineering department were selected to be displayed at the stall setup by Directorate of technical Education for the festival.
The projects were demonstrated at the IISF by Shailesh Khanolkar and generated tremendous interest at the festival for its innovation and simplicity of applications. The concept of harvesting WiFi to generate power for low power applications was appreciated as it is almost like free power harvested from any Wi-Fi source. The use of the new phase change material Cydrotherm 60 for keeping the food above 60 degrees for 4 hours was appreciated as a solution for those carrying tiffin/lunch box.
