Faculty Development Program on “Recent Trends in Machine Learning, Computer Vision, and Data Science”

The Department of Electronics and Computer Engineering of Padre Conceicao College of Engineering, Verna-Goa conducted a Faculty Development Program on “Recent Trends in Machine Learning, Computer Vision, and Data Science” from 23^rd to 28^th January 2023.

Speakers of various sessions comprised of leading researchers from NIT Goa, IIT Goa, BITS, Goa Campus and experts from the IT sector, the FDP attracted participants from PCCE, GEC, DBCE, AITD, Goa University and other institutions from across the state.

Mr. Deepak Chodankar, Director of WisdomLab Synergies Ltd. Verna and Ingenious Consultant Ltd, the Chief Guest of the inaugural function focussed on the revolution likely to be created by application of AI and Machine Learning in various domains. He urged faculty members to develop expertise in the domain in order to provide knowledge to students, creating an avalanche effect in development of applications.

Dr. Rajendra Gad, Chief Guest of the valedictory function stressed on the advances in the domain of Data Science, AI, etc and the necessity to develop skills in the area to for creative and niche applications.

Rev. Fr. Agnelo Gomes, Director of the Agnel Technical Education, emphasised on the fact that FDP’s have proven to be successful in teaching skills in higher education by making the learning methodology easier to comprehend.

Dr Mahesh Parappagoudar, Principal, PCCE highlighted the goal of the FDP that was meant to enhance the academic and intellectual environment across institutions.

The FDP received a positive feedback regarding the knowledge gained during the course.
