The Association of Computer Engineers organized a demonstration on “Automation Testing” for Aarush 2024. The event commenced with a warm welcome address byMs. Harshal Salunke, a first-year computer engineering student who introduced the distinguished speaker, Mr. Neeraj Yadav. Mr. Neeraj is a software engineer at Infuse and an alumnus of PCCE Goa. Ms. Vidya G, a Computer Engineering department faculty, then welcomed Mr. Yadav with a floral bouquet.
Mr. Yadav began the session by engaging students with questions about the basics of software testing, such as its definition, the types of products involved in testing, and key attributes considered during testing of various products. He then provided a detailed overview of software testing, emphasizing the differences between Manual Testing and Automation Testing. He highlighted that while automation testing is generally more efficient, it is not suitable for every scenario.
He introduced various tools used in automation testing, such as Katalon, Ranorex, LambdaTest, Postman, SoapUI, Appium, Selenium, and Mango. Notably, Mr. Yadav is a member of the Mango software development team. He then delved into the different frameworks associated with these tools, illustrating their roles in enhancing automation testing.
The session’s key highlight was a live demonstration by Mr. Yadav, where he showcased how Selenium, integrated with Python, can be used for web testing on a sample website. This practical example gave participants a clear insight into automation testing in real-world scenarios.
The workshop concluded with an interactive Question and Answer session where Mr. Yadav addressed student’s questions. Ms.Diya Jambhale, a first-year computer engineering student, delivered the vote of thanks expressing gratitude to Mr. Yadav for his insightful presentation on Automation Testing and also extending thanks to the attendees for their enthusiastic participation.
