INSTALLATION AND EXPERT TALK ON “CLOUD TECHNOLOGIES”

The ACM Student Chapter of Padre Conceicao College of Engineering (PCCE), organized its first event for the academic year 2024-25 on 23rd August 2024 at 2:00 pm in Comp Lab 2 at PCCE. It featured the oath-taking ceremony and an insightful talk on “Cloud Technologies. The event was attended by ACM student members, faculty, and students from the first, second and third-year Computer Engineering. The total number of participants were 35. The faculty coordinators for the event were Dr. Louella M. Colaco, Ms. Meghana Pai Kane and Ms. Lindsey Colaco. The ceremony was compared by Mr. Sreyash Naik from T.E. Computer Engg.

The event commenced with an oath-taking ceremony by the newly elected PCCE ACM student chapter office bearers. The oath was taken by: Mr. Rounak Naik (T.E. Comp) – the Chair, Mr. Sreyash Naik (T.E. Comp) – the Vice-Chair, Mr. Leander Faleiro (T.E. Comp) – the Treasurer, Mr. Shrain Dhavjekar (T.E. Comp) – the Secretary, Mr. Nick Araujo (S.E. Comp) – the Membership Chair.

Following the oath ceremony, Mr. Sreyash Naik, Vice-Chair of the PCCE ACM student chapter, introduced the chief guest and resource person Mr. Alwyn Pereira – Founder and CEO of Numino Labs, Pune, and invited him to address the audience and share his insights on Cloud Technologies.

Mr. Pereira addressed  various student interests in the field of cloud technologies, providing insights on lab virtualisation through the use of cloud servers. He provided valuable insights of working with Amazon AWS. He mentioned how cloud technologies could be used to enhance any  field of business. Further, he explained the various methods they could use to integrate the cloud in their projects to enhance performance, with ease of automated backups. He shed light on how infrastructures, platforms and functions can be used a service. He also outlined the various cloud services, such as the AWS Cognito, the AWS RDS, AWS Beanstalk and the  AWS Lambda. He concluded his talk with a short note on how being skilled in cloud technology helps with resume building.

Following the technical talk, the vote of thanks was presented by Mr. Rounak Naik, Chair of the PCCE ACM student chapter.

The event concluded with a photo session of the committee members, professors and the chief guest. Mr. Sohan Takkekar (T.E. comp) and Mr. Royston Fernandes (T.E. comp) captured the memories of the event.
