FE ECOMP Visits Digisol

The First-Year students of the Electronics and Computer Engineering Department (ECOMP), PCCE, visited Smartlink Digisol Pvt. Ltd., Verna Industrial Estate, on 12th April 2024 as part of their industry exposure initiative. The visit was coordinated and supervised by Asst. Prof. Sanjeet Kanekar and Asst. Prof. Ulpa Waigankar.

Smartlink Digisol is one of India’s leading companies in the networking and IT infrastructure domain, with a legacy of providing Made-in-India solutions for digital connectivity. The visit aimed to expose students to the fundamentals of structured networking, industrial manufacturing processes, and the integration of electronics in real-world IT environments.

The students were welcomed by the company’s HR and technical staff, followed by a guided tour of the manufacturing and assembly units. During the tour, students observed the production processes of network switches, routers, cables, and fiber optics. Company representatives explained the quality control measures, testing procedures, and automation techniques used in production.

A technical session was also held where students learned about:

  • The basics of LAN/WAN technologies and networking devices

  • The significance of indigenous manufacturing in digital India

  • Emerging trends in IoT, edge computing, and smart networks

The session concluded with an interactive Q&A, where students clarified doubts related to hardware assembly, embedded design, and IT product deployment in the industry.

The visit proved highly informative for the FE students, offering a practical understanding of how electronics, embedded systems, and communication technologies play a critical role in the networking industry. It also gave students a glimpse into professional work environments, product development, and manufacturing standards.
