CYBERSECURITY WORKSHOP

The ACM Student Chapter of Padre Conceição College of Engineering (P.C.C.E.) organized a workshop on Cybersecurity on 6th March 2026 at 10:00 a.m. in Computer Lab 2 on 2nd Floor. The session was conducted by Ms. Jayashree Naik, India Head of Security at Cloudflare, who shared valuable insights into cybersecurity practices and the functioning of one of the world’s leading internet security companies.

During the workshop, Ms. Naik introduced the audience to Cloudflare and explained its significant role in the global internet infrastructure. She highlighted how approximately 20–30% of global internet traffic passes through Cloudflare, emphasizing the company’s importance in maintaining security, performance, and reliability across the web.

Further, Ms. Jayashree discussed fundamental concepts of cybersecurity, explaining how modern organizations protect their networks from cyber threats. Her session aimed to bridge the gap between academic learning and real-world industry practices, helping students understand the technologies and principles currently used in the cybersecurity domain. She also spoke about the role of Artificial Intelligence in cybersecurity, explaining how AI can assist in identifying vulnerabilities, detecting suspicious activities, and preventing cyber attacks more efficiently.

One of the highlights of the workshop was an interactive activity organized by Ms. Naik. Participants were divided into three groups representing the Blue Team, Red Team, and Purple Team, each symbolizing different roles within cybersecurity operations in an organization. The teams were asked to discuss and present their responsibilities, making the session highly engaging and interactive. The activity encouraged participation and gave students a practical understanding of how cybersecurity teams collaborate within companies.

Ms. Naik also expressed her openness to guiding students on potential projects and collaborations, encouraging them to explore cybersecurity-related ideas with industry mentorship.

The workshop was compered by Ms. Pavani Desai. The event was organized under the guidance of Dr. Louella Colaco, Ms. Meghana Pai Kane and Ms. Ayuti Kedekar. The vote of thanks was delivered by Ms. Shreya Bhatt. A total of 55 students participated in the event.

The workshop proved to be an informative and engaging experience for the students, providing them with valuable exposure to real-world cybersecurity practices and the functioning of a global technology company like Cloudflare. The event inspired students to explore the field of cybersecurity and strengthened the ACM Student Chapter’s commitment to organizing industry-oriented learning opportunities.
