SUIT: STUDENTS UNIT OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY

The department of Information Technology of Padre Conceicao College of engineering inaugurated SUIT: Students Unit of Information Technology, the first Student chapter of the department, on 19th February 2019. SUIT aims at inculcating high standards of professional ethics with a positive mindset and societal concern. Our objective are to create competent, and highly valued professionals in the industry and academia who are flexible and adaptable in the workplace and can effectively handle leadership and teamwork opportunities. We also plan to bridge the gap between industry and academia by inviting resource personnel from the industry to conduct various workshops for the students.

The ceremony began with the lighting of the lamp in presence of our chief guest, Mr. Harshal Sinai Talaulikar, founder of HYTSAN Technologies, Goa , who is also our alumnus. The ceremony was also attended by Dr. Mahesh Parappagauder, our Principal, Ms. Sufola Aroujo, Head of the Department, Information Technology, Ms. Anusha Pai Head of the Department, Computer Engineering, faculties and all the department students.

The Principal and HOD IT, addressed the students on the significance of the student’s chapter and anticipated active participation towards this chapter by all. The chief guest later presented the keynote on “Future of Information Technology”, which opened the doors for new project idea and innovations to be taken up by the students.

This was followed by an introduction to the new SUIT council for the academic year 2018-2019 . Badges were presented to the council members; after which the representatives took an Oath for their respective posts.

The first SUIT Newsline was also released, showcasing the journey of the entire department since its induction in the year 2001.

The program concluded with Mr. Biswas Tiwari, President, SUIT, proposing the Vote of Thanks. The inaugural ceremony was coordinated by Ms. Ravina Quadros and Ms. Aarti Bandodker, Faculty Coordinators, SUIT.
